Star World presents magic with Criss Angel

Star World is all set to astound its viewer in the form of two special Star World events: Criss Angel Mindfreak on 18 June at 9.00 p.m. and Criss Angel Supernatural on 25 June at 9.00 p.m.

Post-modern illusionist Criss Angel, receiver of the magician of the year award by the International Magicians Society in 2004 and earlier in 2001, is the first and the only two-time winner of the prestigious honour, says an official release.

An unprecedented mix of performance artist, illusionist and musician, Criss Angel's groundbreaking work has led MTV to dub him as a post-modern Houdini, the United States magician (born in Hungary) famous for his ability to escape from chains or handcuffs or straitjackets of padlocked containers (1874-1926). While horror/fantasy master Clive Barker, praises him as post-apocalyptic chic.

Criss Angel Mindfreak is a compelling combination of stage, street and stunts. The special, features Angel's recent high-profile media events (Body Suspension and Submerged); boasts highlights from his critically acclaimed Times Square stage show Mindfreak; and his astonishing, in-your-face street illusions. The feature is a homage to Angel's inspiration, Harry Houdini, and an introduction to a spiritual protégé who has vowed to continue where Houdini left off, says the release.

On the other hand, Criss Angel Supernatural finds the provocateur creating extraordinary, all-new feats before live audiences who watch as he effortlessly walks up the side of a building, passes a quarter through his skin and, most amazingly, spontaneously combusts - staying engulfed in flames for one full minute. The exclusive has been filmed in New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and at Universal Theme Park in Orlando, Florida.

The viewers at home can also participate in an unprecedented experiment, in which they will be able to feel Criss' hand right through the TV screen.
